Nexus Family with Android Lollipop

October 16: Google has launched the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop and New Nexus Devices from their simple yet effective official website. Google has been known to keep it simple and this is why all the users and developers love them.

Android 5.0 Lollipop or Android L has been in talk for quite sometimes. This version of Android will roll out with some new feature like the ART Runtime and 64-bit support making it a new platform for developers to explore. Various new features like Material Design, Lock screen notification, battery saver for extended battery life, multiple user and guest user for privacy are “just a small taste of the lollipop,” Google claimed.

Along with each new platform, Google is known to release some new devices with collaboration with different firms with hardware makers and give it the Google tag “Nexus”. This year Google announced three new devices; Nexus 6, a phablet collaboration with Motorola, Nexus 9, a tablet collaboration with HTC, Nexus Player, a media streaming device using Android TV collaboration with Asus.

Nexus 6 is a 6 inch phablet smartphone which is made by Motorola. It has an aluminum frame, 6 inch Quad HD display and 13 MP camera. It will have dual front-facing stereo speakers for better gaming and movie experience. It will also use Turbo Charger which will be able to give 6 hours of work with 15 minutes of charging.

Nexus 9 is an 8.9 inch tablet which is made by Taiwan based HTC. It will also be using aluminum frame and Google claims it is a tablet which is small enough to carry in one hand, yet big enough to work on. To make it easy to work on Google designed keyboard folio that magnetically attaches to the Nexus 9 which will give the tablet the ability to be used like a laptop.

Nexus Player will be the first Android TV using device from Nexus. It is an Android Gaming device as well as movie, music and video streaming device. With a gamepad, gaming on your HDTV with Android games will be an easy task. Nexus Player will be Google Cast ready so one can cast their favorite entertainment from any Chromebook, Android or iOS phone or tablet to TV.

While the official pricing hasn’t been launched yet, these devices will be available in market really soon. Nexus 6 will be available for booking from late October and out in store in November, on Google Play Store and different carriers. Nexus 9 and Nexus Player will be available for booking from October 17 and available in store from November 3.
