June 2, 2015: According to Minister for Industry, Mahesh Basnet, Government will fix the prices of construction materials within two days as the retailers are fixing the prices randomly.
In a ceremony to present participants of a three-month hair cutting training organised by the Bhaktapur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), he said they are discussing with the retailers to fix the prices.
He also added that the price of constructing materials like brick, sand, aggregates and corrugated zinc sheets should be fixed soon as the hardware retailer has been selling those materials in monopolized manner. He said that the quality of the construction materials will not be compromised. Compromising the quality of the materials is like putting the generation on risk.
BCCI President Prajjal Jonche said government should help hardware retailer as many property is loosed in this sector. Director General at the Department of Small and Cottage Industries, Narayan Bidari, Chief District Officer Anil Kumar Thakur, Rotary Club of Bhaktapur Chairman Radhe Shyam Suwal said that employment should be provided to quake-affected youths after providing different types of income-generating training.
