Kathmandu, August 12: The meeting of the Legislature-Parliament today drew the government’s attention that it informed the parliament about the incidents of rapes perpetrated at various districts as Nepalgunj, Gorkha and Gulmi.
Similarly, the parliament blamed the government’s passivity in providing relief to the victims and demanded that perpetrators be brought to justice. The parliament showed concern over growing number of violence against women and rape cases in different parts of the county.
Speaker Subash Nembang directed the government to inform the parliament about the relief provided to landslide victims in Sindhupalchowk, Dolakha and Sankhuwasabha districts. He also called on the government for the information on rescue of the landslide-affected families, and the drought seen in Terai districts.
