Lalitpur, Nov 6: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Bijaya Kumar Gachchhadar on Friday said that the government is positive towards the demands of the agitating United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) and that a decision to this effect would be taken soon.
Speaking at a blood donation programme organised in the Capital on Friday on the seventh establishment of the Madhesi Students’ Forum Nepal (Loktantrik), DPM Gachchhadar said that the government is positive towards the demands of the UDMF including that of declaring those killed during the agitations martyrs.
He said that the government will compensate each family of those killed in the agitations with Rs 1 million, provide free treatment to those injured and take back cases filed against those arrested during the protest.
Likewise, the issue to determine the electoral constituencies in accordance with the number of provinces and the population of voters would also be addressed after amending some articles of the new constitution, he added.
Minister for Health and Population, Ram Janam Chaudhary also attended the programme.
