Govt to lower national flag to half mast for three days, mourning quake deaths

Kathmandu, April 28,2015: The government has decided to lower the national flag to half mast in the country and diplomatic missions abroad for the next three days from Tuesday, to mourn the demise of the Nepali and foreign nationals in the April 25 earthquake. The Ministry of Home Affairs shared this in a notice issued today.

Meanwhile, the government has arranged 500 buses for transporting people wishing to return home from the capital. The transportation is free of cost.

The government has managed for free transportation up to Itahari in east and Butwal in the west from the capital in collaboration with the private educational institutes for the convenience of those affected by the Saturday’s earthquake, according to Spokesperson for the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers Uttar Kumar Khatri. Buses will depart from Tinkune and Maitighar road section in the capital at 7:00 am Wednesday.
