GURUNG, FIRST NEPALI CAPAA COMMISSIONER IN US

Kathmandu, Sept 24: Mohan Gurung has been appointed the Commissioner of the Commission on Asia Pacific American Affairs (CAPAA). He is the first Non Resident Nepali to be appointed to this post.

Jay Inslee, Governor of the State of Washington, USA, appointed Gurung to the high office.
Gurung was born in Pelka Chaur VDC, Syangja district. He has been living in the US since 1993 and is working in health and social service for long.

Appointed for a term ending June 2017, Gurung has been making contribution to the promotion of education, health, economic development and humanitarian services.

He is also the founder and the chairman of Nepal-Seattle Society. He is also involved in the preservation and promotion of the Nepali culture and tradition in the US and making the new generation aware about it.

President of the Non Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) Sesh Ghale has awarded a letter of appreciation to Gurung on his appointment to the high office.
