May 21, 2015: Nepal has expected assistance from international community in the development of quake-affected physical infrastructure in the country Minister for Health and Population, said Khagaraj Adhikari in his address to the 68th session of the World Health Assembly on Wednesday.
The Minister said that he was optimistic of receiving mammoth cooperation from the global body in Nepal’s future re-construction bid and Owed sincere thanks to the World Health Organization for promptly mobilizing assistant teams in Nepal at the moment of grave national grief resulted from earthquake.He also thanked the international community for their solidarity and generous support extended to Nepal during difficult time of devastating disaster.
The sources of Nepal’s Permanent Mission in Geneva said that Minister Adhikari briefed her that Nepal entered into the phase of reconstruction and recovery while underlining the urgency of global community’s support to bring back Nepal’s health sector to earlier stage on the occasion. Similarly earlier Minister Adhikari held a bilateral meeting with WHO’s Director-General Dr Margaret Chan.
Regarding the formulation and implementation of health related action plan in future the WHO also agreed to assist Nepal government’s efforts, According to the Permanent Mission.
