Tulsipur (Dang), 31 May, 2015: Herbal development programme in mountainous area has been launched by Federation of Community Forestry Users Nepal  (FECOFUN)

According to FECOFUN, the intervention has been put in place in a way to unleash potential of herbal harvesting in Kavre, Syuja, Saidha, Loharapani and Hasipur VDCs of Dang.

Dang Chapter of the Federation has started its works being focused on herbal development in partnership with Rpantaran Nepal’s Multi Stakeholders Forestry Programme (MSFP) as part of social mobilization in Kavre and Syuja VDCs.

Bharatpur Sector Forestry Officer Devi Prasad Chaudhary said that the initiative was taken to tap potentials of the production of high-valued herbals including timur, dalchini, ritho, malgedi and sunakhari in the area owing to cold weather.

It is expected that the cultivation of aromatic plants with medicinal values would contribute to improve the economic standard of the farmers here.
