Kathmandu, February 12, 2019: After losing a match with Myanmar, Nepal was able to win a victory against India by 2-1 during the Hero women’s gold cup played at Bhubaneshwar, India on February 11, 2019.
After conquering the second position Nepal was behind Myanmar only with 3 points. Sabitra Bhandari managed to score two goals within the 3 minutes.
On the second half, the Indian team tried really hard but were unable to defeat Nepal. Sabitra almost grabbed her hat-trick minute but a last-ditch challenge from the defenders stopped her from scoring.
Before, Nepal had faced 3-0 betting against Myanmar who defeated Iran with 2-0 and secured a place in the final tournament. Nepal will now be playing against Iran in the last group game on Wednesday to decide for a place in the final on February 15, 2019.
