 Birtamod, Aug. 16: The Mechi Eye Hospital has received ‘IOL Master 500’ – the high-tech instrument to provide treatment to cataract patients.Rotary Club Birtamod has offered the Germany-made instrument worth Rs 4.2 million to the hospital, which has been the centre for eye treatment to the people from different parts of the country as well as Asam and Meghalaya of India.Such high-tech instrument is only available in Tilganga Eye Hospital and Lahan Eye Hospital in Nepal, said Hospital’s Superintendant Dr Purswottam Joshi.Earlier, the hospital had imparted training to its three technicians to develop human resource to operate the technology.
Club Chairperson Suresh Bamshal handed over the instrument to the hospital.
