April 23, 2015: The Indian box office has been stormed by the Hollywood action flick’ Furious 7′.The Bollywood movies released this year has been struggling to set the fire at the ticket windows unlike last year.
American action thriller ‘Furious 7’ has grossed over Rs 100 crore in India, but Bollywood production movie bullâ€™s eyes struggles at the box office this year. The estimated box office collection of furious 7 was Rs 104 crore.
The movie was released in four languages in India â€“ Hindi, English, Telugu and Tamil. The movie is considered is considered special as it conveys a heartfelt goodbye to one of the lead actors, Paul Walker, who died in a road accident in 2013.
According to the source , the movies was released nearly on 2200 screen across the India as said to be running very well on its third week.
Trade expert Taran Adarsh states Hollywood films are no longer the second choice for viewers. As the holly wood movies now are dubbed in regional language they are easily understood by the audience because of which Hollywood movies have got huge market and good penetration as well.
“India is a small territory for Hollywood and we buy the distribution right which doesnâ€™t include the making cost of the film. So, even if you spend a good amount of money for the P&A, then also its win-win for us says Manish Dutt, MD of VR Films and Studios.
