Kathmandu, Nov 4: Minister for Home Affairs, Shakti Bahadur Basnet, and Japanese Ambassador to Nepal, Masashi Ogawa, had a meeting today.
During the meeting held at the Home Ministry, they discussed the different issues including mutual relations and bilateral interest.
Stating that the government of Japan was happy over the formation of a new government and promulgation of new constitution, Japanese Ambassador Ogawa expresssed the commitment to provide the support announced earlier by the Japanese government after the formation of the reconstruction authority.
Similarly, Home Minister Basnet said that talks and meetings were underway between the government and the agitating Madhes-based parties, saying the government was ready to settle the ongoing Tarai agitation.
Minister Basnet expressed the view that Nepal was capable to find out the solution of existing Madhes problem and added that the Madhes problem was the internal matter of the country.
