Hornet bite killed a student in Nuwakot


Kathmandu, 27 August 2015– Hornet bite killed 3 years student named Unique Tamang in Tupche VDC Nuwakot yesterday.Dozens were injured in a unexpected incident. Villagers said Hornet nest was downed by air or monkey could have wave the tree and gravity couldn’t  stop falling it. Volunteers mobilized jointly  from National Planning Commission and Himalayan Technical Institute were the witness of the accident who immediately take them to the hospital. Pradip Khatiwada National Coordinator of National Volunteering Program said, “we saw a group of crying children in school dress. They were crying. Their condition was so critical. we brought them in district hospital Nuwakot. “Bald-Faced-Hornet-Image-1024x576

Almost all were unconscious and their body  swelling was severe. As we reached hospital doctors were not so responsive. Hospital didn’t address them properly even we did everything we can for them, he added. Rukesh Gurung who suddenly drove them hospital said we felt very bad of  her death. Hospital could save her life but we didn’t  see any good and skilled doctor there. Because of severe swelling doctor were in dilemma themselves. There were not even any provisions of other health facilities either in the village .

Four students named Mamata Tamang (4 years)  Dolma Tamang (3 years)  Malika Tamang (4 years)  Arpana Neupane were injured where one is very critical and is in kathmadu for further treatment. Two villagers Urcha Tamang Som Badur Tamang are also injured because of bite.
