June 25, 2015:Â Mauricio Isla scored the goal in 81st minute to take Chile into the semifinal of Copa America. Uruguay was down into nine man. In the final minutes Uruguay defender Jorge Fucile was red carded for a second warning. Isla’s goal was only the third goal for his country.
Chile will now face either Bolivia or Peru in the semifinal. It was the horrible game for Uruguay as they saw six yellow cards in addition to two reds. Cavani got the first red card in Uruguay’s shirt. Fucile was send off after bringing Alexis Sanchez down.
Chile dominated the match with 80% possession.Columbia and Argentina and Brazil and Paraguay will face each other in the other Semifinal on Saturday and Sunday.
