Kathmandu,10 Dec 2014: Ambassador of European Union Delegation to Nepal, Rensje Teerink, has said that human rights and democracy are important for the sustainable peace and world prosperity.
At a programme organised here today on the occasion of the International Human Rights Day, she said Nepal is impatiently waiting for the new constitution.
The EU Ambassador also expressed the belief that the new constitution would be democratic and inclusive and would guarantee equal rights to all Nepalese.
Ambassador Teerink said the EU has been working for the promotion of human rights in Nepal and assured for additional support in the days ahead.
Various other speakers including Department Chief of EU, Andrew Rodger expressed the belief that support of all was necessary for the promotion of human rights.
The EU with the collaboration of different local INGOs has been assisting some 90 projects in the human rights field since 2003. Source:RSS
