HYDROPOWER PRODUCTION SLASHES AFTER INFRASTRUCTURE IN SHAMBLES

Myagdi, Aug. 9: The power production capacity of 50-KW First Darkhola Hydropower Project operated in Muna VDC of Myagdi district has slashed in lack of maintenance of the project.

The project’s power generation capacity has reduced to 24-KW after the landslide has damaged more than half portion of canal from Darckhola to Power House of the project and with the equipments installed in power house getting idle, said Project Management Committee Chairperson Dambar Bhandari.

Of total 980-meter-long canal, 475 meters was damaged while equipments of the power house are also dysfunctional, he added. With the reduction of power generation, around 600 households in and around Faliyagaun have been directly affected.
