Kathmandu, Sept 8: Rastriya Prajatantra Party leader and former Prime Minister Lokendra Bahadur Chand has said that new constitution should be promulgated as soon as possible to end political instability in the country.
Talking in a face-to face programme here in the capital city today, leader Chand urged all leaders to be responsible to resolve the current political problems country facing and maintain social harmony among all ethnic and religious groups for national integrity.
Chand added that he has submitted the names of majority of the partyâ€™s central committee member in the Election Commission (EC) expecting to go ahead to settle the intra-party disputes.
Leader Chand further said that he was compelled to go to the EC as party leader Pashupati Shumsher Rana did not handover the chair to Chand as it was mentioned in to party statute following the system of rotational leadership in the party.
Talking on a different context, he added that the leader sent from the party in the cabinet would not be changed as he was sent after the formal decision in the party.
Chand further claimed that he was the official chair of the party as 61 members out of 103 have signed for his leadership.
