The aim was to, basically, reach to a conclusion and give necessary explanations to the point sources of air pollution.

The event first started with Mr. Bhupesh Adhikari from ICIMOD, who had a introductory session about this project and Dr. Adhikari said this is small approach from the outcome of Mayors meet organized on 2018 October. During sharing outcomes of the research, Ms. Mangaleswori Dhonju (Program coordinator from CEN) added this research was carried out in 71 wards of Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur in which total 1824 industries were observed during the survey out of that number 140 industries were from Bhaktapur, 397 from Lalitpur, 447 from Kathmandu. When compared between Kathmandu and Lalitpur, cottage industries are more in numbers at Bhaktapur whereas the small scale industries at Lalitpur are followed by large scale industries at Kathmandu. The study also found that 49% of the ward member were unaware about the environmental pollution.

The floor was open for the discussion where most of the participants emphasize on the necessity of awareness, technology and technical knowledge to give a voice to the local representatives by the concerned authorities. They are very much hopeful that these conferences will help bring out the needful solutions. Furthermore, with events like these, we can be well assured that sustainable changes can be seen and soon.
