August 22, 2016: Embassy of India in Kathmandu recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Local Development Office of Darchula for providing a financial assistance to conduct a programme for women empowerment in the district.
The programme is being conducted with an aim to empower the poor and underprivileged women by providing them the necessary skills and equipment for self-employment and in the process making them financially independent.
Under the programme, 15 women from marginalized section of Khalanga VDC would be trained in stitching and tailoring work by a skilled trainer under the overall supervision of the Local Development Officer of Darchula.
