Beni (Myagdi),14 Nov 2014: The Indian government is to provide grant assistance to a Thegchen Ling Monastery in Mustang district to construct a hostel and a kitchen block with an objective of encouraging religious education.

The Indian government has agreed to provide the grant assistance of Rs 44.4 million for the same.

The Indian Embassy in Nepal and the Monastery signed the agreement on November 11 to this effect, said Chief District Officer of Mustang, Baburam Bhandari.

Bhandari said the Indian government is going to provide the grant assistance under the Nepal-India Financial Assistance programme.

The assistance is to be provided as the people in the monastery have been facing problem in religious study for lack of hostel and kitchen block.
