INDIAN PM PLEDGES SUPPORT OF RS 250 M FOR PASHUPATI’S DEVELOPMENT

Kathmandu, Aug. 4: Visiting Prime Minster of India, Narendra Damodardas Modi, has pledged a support of Rs 250 million for broader physical infrastructure development of the Pashupati area.

 

Member-Secretary at the Pashupati Area Development Trust (PADT, Dr Govinda Tondon said the Indian Prime Minister’s announcement of support would contribute to the development and promotion of the holy area.

 

Prime Minister Modi is performing a ‘special pooja’ at the Pashupatinath Temple on Monday (in the month of Shrawan), a day Hindus consider auspicious to offer prayers to the Lord Shiva.

 

Prior to his Nepal visit, the special guest Modi wrote on his tweeter account that it was his good fortune to get an opportunity to offer worship to the Pashupati Temple.
