Butwal, 25TH December,Â 2014Â : A well-equipped convention center of international standard is being built in Butwal, a place close to Lumbini, the birthplace of Gautam Buddha.
The need of infrastructure development for Greater Lumbini area has been realised with the booming tourism business in this
historic place. The construction of a proposed center is all certai
n to start soon as the Department of Urban Development and Building Construction has already okayed a tender towards that end, said Department’s building construction section chief Machakaji Shrestha.
The government has planned to construct the center at Butwal. The Department has accepted the tender proposal of Rs 280 million from the Rabina Construction Pvt Limited for the construction (first-phase) of the center which is expected to complete within the next five years. The construction of the center will take place in two phases and the present tender is awarded to the Rabina Construction Ltd for the first-phase construction, he said.
The center will have one big hall with a seating capacity for 1000 persons, and other two small halls.Â It will have the facility of open theater, restaurants, canteens, bank and ATM services, a beautiful garden and parking, as well.
The center will be built in the shape of the Nepali national flag when viewed from the sky, reflecting national unity of Nepal.
