Dr KC has been staging a fast-unto-death at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital for last 20 days putting forth various demands including resignation of Dr Singh from the top IoM position.

The veteran orthopaedic surgeon has been demanding that the dean should be appointed on the basis of seniority, but not political power sharing.

Singh met TU Vice-Chancellor Tirtha Khaniya today and submitted the resignation after around three weeks of his appointment.

Immediately after Singh’s appointment, Dr KC on November 23 had begun the fast-unto-death for the 10th time in last few years.

He has been refusing to end the strike without ensuring removal of Dr Singh, his old colleague, and Khaniya from the positions.
