Kathmandu. August 30: Â Israel’s new Ambassador to Nepal, Yaron Mayor in an orientation program to Nepali students said that development of agriculture sector leads to economic progress of any country. According to the Ambassador, Nepal has huge potential of agricultural development and suggested to increase agricultural production and productivity by mobilizing youth.
The new Israeli Ambassador addressed in an orientation program for youth students who are selected for ten month training.This training program is jointly funded by Small Farmers Development Bank and Israeli Embassy under the Agriculture Trainee Program. The training will be promulgated in Israel at various agro training centres.
According to the new Israeli Ambassador, Israel has increased quota for Nepalese in the training program as Israeli government was impressed by the hard work,dedication,skill and hard labor of Nepali students.
Jalan Kumar Sharma, Chief Executive Officer of Bank mentioned that Nepali students should come back to Nepal after completion of their training and contribute for the promotion of agro sector.
As per the report last year, last year, 205 Nepali students were selected but this year, Small Framers Development Bank is planning to send 5,015 students for the training. The monthly income of each trainee will be over NRs. 100,000.
The Embassy of Israel said that on coming Thursday, the new Ambassador will present his letter of credence to the President, Dr.Ram Baran Yadav .
