Jajarkot, July 24: Most of the people in Jajarkot district have started going India for job after they could not find yarsagumba (caterpillar fungs) in Dolpa district.

A local, Indra Bahadur Khatri of Khagenkot-5 said that most of the Jajarkot folks, who had gone at different places of Dolpa to collect yarsagumba to make earnings for their daily expenses, have started to go to India after they returned home empty handed. He added that more than 200 people of Khagenkot VDC alone have gone at different places of India for earnings.

Many people of Khagenkot, Ragda, Bhagawati, Laha, Dandagaun, Nayakbada, Rokayagaun, Jagatipur and others have gone to India to make some income to pay loan, which was taken while going to Dolpa to collect yarsagumba, and for other expenses to celebrate festivals like Dashain and Tihar.

More than 100 people of rural areas of the district are leaving for India everyday through the district headquarter.
A local of Bhagawati-5, Kali Bahadur BK said that he is going to India leaving his family with a plan to return home in Dashain after making some money. It is known that most of the people, who have gone to India are SLC failed students.

Jajarkot folks have no other option to go to India for earnings as the district has only 40 per cent cultivated land and the food grain production here is sufficient for only six months. Due to this, farmers in Jajarkot district have compulsion to depend on yarsagumba of Dolpa and to go to India for employment.
