KATHMANDU, OCT 16 :Â The much-anticipated, annual musical celebration, Jazzmandu , finally starts from today. Considered one of the most popular musical events in the Valley, the event will last for almost a week, from October 16 to 22, and will showcase some of the finest musicians from home and abroad.
The first day of the musical extravaganza will see promising local bands battle for the top position. Titled Jazz for the Next Generation Music Competition, the event will feature three pre-selected finalists, who will be judged by a panel of judges at Kathmandu Jazz Conservatory, Jhamsikhel. Also playing today are Cadenza and friends, whoâ€™ll kick off the festival at Jazz Upstairs, Lazimpat.
Similarly, on October 17 Pity Cabrera Trio, Tropic Green, Kristian Persson Elements and KJ Denhert will perform at various venues in the Valley. The Red Hot Latin Jazz event, on Oct ober 19, will see Pity Cabrera Trio andÂ Eduardo Mendonca entertain the crowd with their Latin twist at Hotel Summit, Kupondole. The finale, on October 22, will feature bands improvising together and playing in an event at Yak & Yeti Hotel, Durbar Marg.
