27 October,2014:Â Former JLS star JB Gill and his wife Chloe have introduced their baby son in an exclusive interview and photoshoot with HELLO! magazine.
The singer and his wife, who live on a farm in rural Kent, welcomed Ace Jeremiah one month ago.
Explaining the meaning behind the name, JB told HELLO!: “The name Ace means ‘one who excels’, and I want him to be the best he can be in as many things as possible.
JB Gill and wife Chloe proudly introduce their son, Ace.
“There’s already so much I’m looking forward to doing with him, like taking him horse riding and out on the farm feeding the pigs. I want him to try gymnastics, running, rugby, football, skiing – all the things we’ve been fortunate to experience. There’s so much out there to learn about and I can’t wait to show him.
“What I’m really excited about is when Ace is old enough to enjoy the farm, too. I can’t wait to get him his first pair of wellies and get him mucking out the pigs with me. We’ll send him down to pick fresh eggs for breakfast.
“It’s such a lovely life for a kid here. There’s so much for him to learn and experience, and I can’t wait to be part of that – me and my boy.”
But Chloe tells the magazine that Ace’s welcome into the world didn’t exactly go according to plan.
She endured a 40-hour labour which ended in an emergency Caesarean after doctors discovered the umbilical chord was wrapped twice round Ace’s neck.
“We both had such a clear picture in our minds of how the birth would be so, although you have to do what’s best for you and the baby, it was a massive shock – something that only really hit me when we were driving home from hospital,” she said.
“I started crying and I couldn’t stop and I just kept saying to J over and over, ‘I can’t believe what we’ve just been through.”
Chloe also tells the magazine that Rochelle Humes – the wife of JB’s former JLS bandmate Marvin – has been a huge help since she became a mother.
“She had a Caesarean, too, so has been wonderful at giving me advice and tips. She couldn’t wait to get her hands on Ace. She was like, ‘I have to see him,’ and wants us to keep sending her photos.”
