Juvenile Bench Established At Myagdi


Babiyachaur (Myagdi), July 2, 2015 : A juvenile bench (a child friendly room and bench) have been established in order to increase the access of children to justice at the District Court Myagdi.

Records keeper at the Court, Gokarna Raj Pant said that the juvenile bench has been established to concentrate on research and prosecution of case related to children. Further, district Judge Gayatri Prasad Regmi said that the bench aims to rehabilitate children back to the society through reforms and not by punishing them like elders.

In order to make the juvenile bench effective a district juvenile justice committee has also been formed in the district. Similarly, the juvenile bench also includes psycho social counseling facilities.So far, 56 district courts have already set up the juvenile bench.
