Kathmandu, Oct 31: The Kapan people have welcomed newly elected Vice-President Nanda Bahadur Pun at his residence at Kapan Height of the Kathmandu Valley in a grand way.
The locals, relatives and well wishers thronged his residence to congratulate and extend best wishes to the newly elected Vice-President Pun.
He was greeted with musical bands and illuminations while entering the residence.
The locals were standing on line with flowers and bouquet while the Vice-President Pun reached his residence with his motorcade escorted by Nepal Army and Nepal Police’s security.
The large number of leaders and cadres of the UCPN (Maoist), including General Secretary Krishna Bahadur Mahara, were present to welcome party standing committee member Pun as the country’s Vice-President.
Vice-President elect’s spouse Hastamali Pun said the Vice-President elect is devoted to the country and people since his youth.

Meanwhile, Chinese Vice-President Li Yaunchao has congratulated and extended best wishes to UCPN (Maoist) leader Nanda Bahadur Pun on his election to Vice-President.
Immediately after the Vice-President elect Pun reached his residence Kapan, Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Wun Chuntai reached the former’s residence and handed over Vice-President Yaunchao’s message.
