KARMALAYA-VII ‘Redefining the possible’

Kathmandu, July 24, 2018: KARMALAYA-VII ‘Redefining the possible’, a one-month Inter College Research Workshop cum Competition was organized by Center for Applied Research and Rural Development (CARRD) an undertaking of Nepal Engineering College, Changunarayan, Bhaktapur. The program concluded showcasing Nine Engineering Research projects which lasted for a month of June and July with the participation of more than 300 research enthusiasts.

The workshop consisted of Proposal and Report writing, Business Model Analysis, Sustainability and Implementation, Prototypes and Software development, and other key factors of Research and Entrepreneurship. The projects were designed to help the current Nepali Market and based on current needs of Nepal’s rising economy and rural areas which were, Soil Stabilization, Base Isolation of Earthquake Resistant Buildings, Bamboo Reinforced Concrete, Eco-Brick House, Hamro Margadarshak App, Smart Home, necApps, Automatic Drip Irrigation System.

The esteemed judges at the event were Prof. Dr. Hari Krishna Shrestha, Prof. Sabitri Tripathi, Mr. Rabindra Man Joshi, Engineer Mandeep Shrestha, Er. Narayan Acharya, Er. Puja Dhungana and Er. Roman Man Shrestha. Prof. Dr. Shrestha concluded that the workshop revolved around the key areas of Entrepreneurship and the students were focused to implement the results of the One-month workshop to the emerging Nepali market and for its sustainable growth and development solving key problems from Engineering Research basis.

The program ended with the participation of the Mayor of Changunarayan Municipality Mr. Som Prasad Mishra and CEO’s of cmsJob and Valerian Groups respectively. The title sponsors of the program were cmsJob.com and was supported by Changunarayan Municipality, National Youth Council, Valerian Groups Pvt.Ltd. along with Glocal Khabar as Media Partners.
