Rupandehi, 16 Jan 2015 : Tharu community of Rupandehi district organized a khichadi (typical dish) festival and Tharu Culture exhibition on the occasion of the Tharu Community’s New Year and the Maghi festival in Kajauriya of the district today.
Things that have the cultural importance including the Tharu costumes, foods, typical Tharu dances were the major attraction of the festival.
The Tharu community people performed various Tharu songs and traditional dances as Jhumra, Lathi, Jhamta, Jhara, Jhijhiya and other rare Tharu dances.
Similarly, the visitors enjoyed the typical taste of special Tharu dishes, Ghoghi, Fish, Dhikri, Khichadi, and others in the festival.
