Khotang, January 7, 2017:Â The District Agriculture Development Office Khotang has started distributing hand tractors to farmers in the district.
The agro office has begun distributing tractors to local farmers. Technical Assistant at the agro office Rambhakta Adhikary said his office had started distributing hand tractors to farmers to modernise the agriculture sector.
According to the agro office, the process of distributing 10 hand tractors provided by the BTL Trade Private Limited to quake-hit farmers and 13 tractors provided by Agro office and Agriculture Engineering Directorate to farmers and farmers’ cooperatives at 50 per cent discount is under way.
Adhikary said of the 22 tractors, eight were given to the farmers. The agriculture office has provided three tractors under the Comprehensive Maize Production Programme.
