KMC to purchase five sweeping machines for ‘Clean City Campaign’

Kathmandu, May 16 : The Kathmandu Metropolitancity is set to purchase five sweeping machines soon. The sweeping machines are being purchased for ‘Clean City Campaign’.

Basanta Acharya,information officer at KMC, said a tender has been called for the machines on April 5, and seven companies have applied for the contract. The newly formed bidding evaluation subcommittee is looking into the matter for the time being and the most suitable bidder will be handed the contract after the evaluation is carried out by the committee, he added.

The roads in the areas including Bag Durbar, Lainchaur, Jamal, Old Bus Park, Putalisadak, Tri-Chandra and Bhadrakali are being cleaned under the ‘Clean City Campaign’ by the KMC. The collective cost of five sweepers is estimated to be around Rs.120 million.
