Parsa, Aug. 6: Closure of the CD4 count test service at Narayani Sub-regional Hospital has affected the people living with HIV/AIDS in the district.
The service was reportedly closed due to problems related to power supply and it’s been five months that the service is not available at the hospital, forcing the people to go to Kathmandu or Chitwan for the same.
We have not been able to provide the service due to lack of a power controller essential to run the air conditioning and other electronic equipment inside the lab, said Chief of the Laboratory Harichand Bhagat.
The CD4 count machine worth Rs. 9 million is likely to suffer damage if kept out of operation for long, said Bhagat.
Meanwhile, Medical Superintendent of the Hospital Ramashanker Thakur said that efforts are being made to resume the service at the hospital.
