Lapang Khola bridge construction starts in Dhading

Dhading: The construction of a bridge has initialized on the Lapang Khola in TripuraSundari Rural Municipality of Dhading district. The bridge will connect people from the northern area of ​​Dhading with accessibility transportation services for years.

A federal lawmaker, Mr. Khem Prasad Lohani from Dhading Constituency-2, laid the foundation stone of a 45-meter-long and 8.4- meter wide. The bridge is being constructed with a budget of Rs 55.4 million allocated with the financial support of the National Reconstruction Authority (NRA). The bridge over Lapang Khola lies along Dhading Besi–Sankosh Tipling –Somdang is located on the road section which is the lifeline of the local people from which the road connects the remote areas of Dhading with the district headquarters.

Due to the lack of concrete bridges built on the river has been affecting most of the villages including Rubi Valley, Khaniyabas, Ganga Jamuna, Tripura Sundari, Netrawati are affected during the monsoons.

NRA’s District Programme Implementation Unit, Grant Manager and Local Infrastructure Head, Mr. Jayaram Shrestha said that the Rasuwa Construction J/V NS Company won the tender for the construction of a bridge. He added the company will have to hand over the bridge within the stipulated deadline which is December 15, 2020.

With the construction of the bridge, the residents of the VDCs — Tripureshwor, Gumdi, Marpak, Darkha, Satyadevi, Jharlang, Sertung, Rigaun, and Lapa will have easy access to the road network.

Meanwhile, the Darkha-Jharlang-Sertung-Tipling road is being constructed for the road section, which will make it easier to operate in different regions of the district that are not connected to the road network.
