Kathmandu, 28 March, 2015 : Leader of the UCPN (Maoist) Dr Baburam Bhattarai has expressed solidarity to the hunger strike lunched by Prof Dr Govinda KC at TU Teaching Hospital.
KC has been staging fast-unto-death demanding improvement in medical sector.
Stating that the demands put forth by Dr KC were genuine, Dr Bhattarai expressed support to the solidarity for the ongoing hunger strike.
Reaching the hospital, leader Bhattarai said that the hunger strike should reach to a conclusion as it was started to end mafia culture in the medical sector.
The former Prime Minister said, “I failed to address KC’s rightful demands when I was in the government. I am regretful now.”Â There would not be any compromise on the issues of health and education, he added.
Leader Bhattarai urged the government to address KC’s demands immediately.
The health condition of Dr KC, who has been staging the hunger strike from Sunday posing 10-point demand, is deteriorating gradually.
Meanwhile, Vice-Chairman of the UCPN (Maoist) Narayankaji Shrestha told the National news Agency (RSS) that he would express solidarity to KC’s hunger strike as the demands raised by KC were genuine.
