Kathmandu, April 3: Leaders of the big political parties have claimed their parties’ leadership in the high-level political committee.
At an interaction in the capital city on Thursday, Nepali Congress leader Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat said his party, being the largest one, would be leading the high-level political committee.
Similarly, Secretary of the CPN-UML, Shankar Pokhrel, said the leadership in the political committee could be rotational.
It would not be good to give the leadership to any single party for long, he added.
Devendra Poudel of the UCPN-Maoist said his party should be given the opportunity to lead the committee so that it could be led in a balanced way.
Moreover, he said the elections at the local bodies would shadow federalism. So, the elections at local bodies and the election of president could be held after promulgating the new constitution, he added. RSS
