LIFE SKILL EDUCATION A MUST: PREZ YADAV

President Dr Ram Baran Yadav has said that participation, collaboration and commitment of stakeholders was a must to develop education institutions purely into academic domain. Addressing a programme organised by the Ministry of Education at the Sheetal Niwas today on the occasion of the 35th National Education Day and International Literacy Day, President Yadav said that effectiveness of our educational institutions remains a challenge for us at a time when the international community is moving ahead to build knowledge-based society.

He said that it was necessary to expand relevant and life-skill education. On the occasion, President Yadav suggested PhD holders and students securing highest mark in different faculties of universities to show their capability to fulfill their responsibility towards the illiterate Nepalese. He also expressed his confidence that the awarded students with self-confidence and hard work would engage to change the possibilities into reality for the development of country.

Stating that the state is investing a great amount in the education sector despite the limited means and resources, the President said, “I request one and all to carry out works being committed to utilize own education and skill for nation building.” Similarly, Minister for Education, Chitra Lekha Yadav, expressed belief that the Education Day would inspire all to carry out works in educational development in an accountable manner.The National Education Day is being marked this year under the slogan “Capable Teachers, Quality Education: Literacy and Education with Technology for Prosperity.”On the occasion President Yadav presented medals and certificates to 297 students.
