Trishuli (Nuwakot), Dec 8: A shrimadbhagawad gyan mahayagya (a grand mythical/religious storytelling festival) has been organized here to construct a multi-purpose building.
The Samaj Sachetan Centre began the mahayagaya on Sunday so that it could generate money for constructing a building at Bidur, said Chairman Yam Bahadur Khati.
Former education secretary Shankar Pande inaugurated the mahayagya. On the occasion, Mr Pande said the religious festival would be important medium of social welfare through the religious tradition.
Pandit Arjun Prasad Adhikari is reciting and interpreting the mythical stories. On its very first day, Rs 300,000 was collected.
