Nepalgunj, 1 January, 2015 :Â Â Maiti Nepal Regional Office, Nepalgunj rescued 33 Nepali women who were in vulnerable condition in India and the Gulf Countries.
According to Keshav Koirala, the coordinator at the Maiti Nepal’s regional office, 29 women were rescued from India whereas four were
from the Gulf countries last year.
The rescue operation became easier with the setting up of Maiti India in India in collaboration of Maiti Nepal, shared Koirala.
Similarly, the organization working against the trafficking of children and women, also has so far rescued 469 children and women who were travelling to India under dubious circumstances from the border check point.
Out of 447 applications received by the organization, that stated the missing status of some family members, 33 members have been found.
“It shows how challenging it is to prevent the trafficking of the children and women,” Koirala added.
