Madhyapurthimi, May 12, 2015: Madhyapur Thimi area in Bhaktapur suffered massive damages from today’s 6.8 magnitude earthquake that struck the country with its epicenter in Dolakha at 12.55 pm local time.
Over 100 houses in Bhaktapur suffered damages leaving 198 injured. They victims are being treated at the Bhaktapur Hospital and Nepal-Korea Friendship Hospital. Further details of the damages are awaited.
Due to collapse of two houses at Bahakha Bazaar, the road section of Kathmandu-Bhaktapur road section was disrupted. According to Police Inspector Yadav Dhakal, Jeeb Chitrakar and his brother lost their houses to the powerful aftershock.
At least 105 have been injured from the earthquake in Kavre district. They are undergoing treatment at Dhulikhel Hospital and the Banepa-based Sheer Memorial Hospital. Details of the damages in the district are awaited.
