June 25, 2015: According to McDonald’s it is about to sell its 413 stores in Taiwan to a franchise operator. They are selling it as part of a plan to turn around the retailer.
McDonald’s is searching suitable candidates to become its owner. McDonald’s which is world’s largest fast-food chain is struggling to hold on to customers due to competition.
According to Chief executive Steve Easterbrook would increase its number of franchised restaurants globally. McDonald’s restaurants in United Stated may decrease after announcing in April the closure of 350 restaurants globally.
Its Asian business has also decreased after food safety scares in China last year over tainted meat.
