Kathmandu, 15 December, 2014: Minister for Foreign Affairs Mahendra Bahadur Pandey has said the media has a significant role towards building nation as their positive support is highly appreciated to that end.

the capital on Monday, Minister Pandey said dissemination of positive and fact-based news and information should be the focus of media so as to ensure timely promulgation of a new constitution and take the country towards the path of economic, social and cultural development.

 

On the occasion, he thanked political parties, civil society, human rights activists, journalists and general public for their indelible role in making the recent 18th SAARC Summit a success.

 

Similarly, President of Federation of Nepali Journalists, Dr Mahendra Bista, said although the online news service has proved the means of delivering quick information to the people, their news services are not found completing accountable editorial process.

 

Prof Dr Surendra KC underscored the need of drafting a pro-people constitution within the scheduled timeframe.
