Babiyachaur (Myagdi), 20 October 2014: The health posts in the district have seen acute shortage of medicine due to delayed supply.
Patients who get the medicine free of cost are therefore worried over the government’s lackadaisical behavior.
The District Health Office of Myagdi has said it had demanded the medicine stocked in the central medical store of the supply division at Pathlaiya two months back, but it was yet to receive the medicines.
Essential medicines as saline water, jeevanjal, and injection for delivery are brought from neighbouring Baglung district for the immediate purpose, informed subba Suresh Sharma at District Health Office.
Nineteen kinds of medicines were demanded but these are yet to be delivered.
The government provides 40 types of medicines from the district hospital while 38 types from primary health centre and 30 types from health posts free of cost.
Lack of coordination among the concerned bodies and inaction of the medical store were the reasons behind delayed supply of medicine, said Roshan Neupane, Chief at District Health Office.
