Bhimduttanagar, Sept 3: A hydropower project constructed at Pattharkot of Malikarjun VDC-7 in Darchula district remains closed for long. The 4- KW Mulaura Micro Hydropower Project was closed after around four months of its operation due to frequent technical problems. It was constructed at a cost of Rs 2.5 million of Api Community Centre under the Poverty Alleviation Fund, the VDC and local users. The project was closed from December as per the information obtained.
Local users complained that the bodies concerned have not paid any attention towards resuming the project even after long. Gangadutta Joshi of the Api Community Centre gave assurance of bringing a new machine. It’s not in operation since one year.
