Dar Es Salam, April 18, 2015: At least 19 Tanzanian gold miners lost their lives when the pit they were working in collapsed.
The accident occurred in the northwestern Msalala district where the mine was collapsed, as told by a local government official on Saturday.
According to local district commissioner Benson Mwampesaya, “The pit collapsed and buried several people who were working in it, efforts are going on to dig out more bodies.” He also addded that 19 bodies had been found so far.
