Minister Yadav Pledges All-Out Aid To School Infrastructure Development In Rural Areas

Pokhara,9 Feb 2015: Minister for Education Chitralekha Yadav has pledged all-out support of the Ministry for developing school infrastructure and securing quality education in the hinterlands of Nepal.

Inaugurating the Srimad Bhagavat Saptah Gyan Mahayagya (Hindu ritualistic performance) at Matepani in the district which aims to collect financial support for Sitaram Secondary School located at Yangjakot of Thumakodanda of Kaski, Minister Yadav assured of taking the initiative for making available the Rs 46.5 million pledged by the Indian Embassy for construction of the school’s building. She also said the Ministry would work for increasing donation to the school.

Underscoring the importance of education as the country’s backbone and supreme infrastructure, Minister Yadav said the students were a huge asset for the country’s development.

On the occasion, former lawmaker Taranath Ranabhat warned the recent political polarization was threatening to destabilize social harmony and incite ethnic discrimination.

Lawmakers Yagya Bahadur Thapa and Jivan Pariyar pledged to provide Rs 50,000 each for development of the school’s infrastructure.

The Mahayagya held under the chairmanship of the School Management Committee Chairman Tilak Bahadur Gurung drew Rs 4 million in donation on the opening day.
