Dolpa,8 Feb 2015: The school textbooks’ agents have said that they would not supply books in the district this academic year until the dues for the same was not cleared.
The agents expressed their ire against the Sajha Publication Regional Office, Nepalgunj, after it did not pay the dues of the previous Academic year and thereby concluded not to transport the textbooks in the current year. They also claimed that their profession was at risk and were worried about how they would pay the rising interest of the loan they took to run the business.
Purna Keshar Neupane, one of the textbooks suppliers in the district complained that the Sajha publications refused to pay by saying the Janak Education Materials Centre, Sanothimi, did not allocate the amount in time.
As many as six distributers used to supply the books in the district. However, they are not interested to it this year and this would possibly invite the shortage of book in the district, Neupane said.
The Sajha publications remained indifferent in this regard though the textbook suppliers drew its attention time and again, added Neupane.
