Mustang snowfall: Five more bodies recovered

POKHARA/BAGLUNG, Oct 16: Five more dead bodies been recovered in Mustang on Thursday morning as the rescue operation for the tourists caught in the snowfall continues in the district.

According to Chief District Officer (CDO) Baburam Bhandari, bodies of two Nepalis, two Israelis and one Polish were recovered by a chopper of Nepal army used in rescue effort.

Bhandari also informed that two choppers are being used for the rescue of the missing tourist in the region.

“The rescue effort that suspended on Thursday due to bad weather has resumed. We are trying to bring the bodies found near Thorang Pass to Mustang,” he added.

As per the record kept at Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP), 85 tourists are still out of contact in the snowfall.
