NA CONTIUES RESCUE OPERATION

Kathmandu, Aug. 26: The Nepal Army (NA) has continued its efforts to give an outlet to water blocked in the Sunkoshi River due to landslide occurred at Jure area of Ramche VDC-5 of Sindhupalchowk district on August 2.

According to a measurement of water flow taken today, the internal current of artificial lake created after the landslide is 184 cu sec and external current is 281 cu sec.

The NA Directorate of Public Relations informed that around 1,950 meters section of pilot track has been so far completed in course of opening alternative temporary route and up-gradation of around 3,500 meters of the alternative road from Barhabise side has been undertaken.

Adequate human resource along with six excavators and a dozer has been mobilized to construct alternative route in the landslide-hit area.

Likewise, NA’s teams have been mobilized in rescue operations carried out in flood and landslide-induced disaster-hit areas in several parts fo the country of late.

The NA has kept on its rescue works in Bhediya of Siraha, Phewa Lake of Kaski, Babai and Gueriya of Bardiya, Dharapani of Surkhet, Ramche and Baramche of Sindhupalchowk district.
